Privacy and Contact
Akousia has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no accounts. Nothing about you is measured, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to ask permission for. This page says exactly what that means.
What we store about you
Nothing on our side. There is no account to make, no form to fill in, no newsletter and no analytics.
The site does keep a few things in your own browser, in what is called local storage. That is a small notepad that belongs to your browser and never leaves your device. We cannot read it, and neither can anyone else.
- Which lessons you opened, so the eighteen lessons can show you where you stopped.
- How you left an exercise set up, so you do not pick the same pool and level every time.
- Your streak in the reading trainer, so it can tell you when you beat it.
Clearing your browser data wipes all three. Nothing breaks: the site simply starts fresh.
Why there is no cookie banner
Dutch law asks for consent when a site reads or writes something on your device that is not needed for the thing you asked for. The three items above exist only to do what you just asked the page to do, and none of them identifies you or travels anywhere.
Everything else that normally triggers a banner is absent here. No Google Analytics. No advertising network. No embedded video. No social buttons. The fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google, so opening a page does not tell anyone else that you did.
You can check this yourself. Open the network tab in your browser and load any page on this site. Every request goes to akousia.com and nowhere else.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like every web server, it records the requests it receives, including your IP address, in order to deliver the page and to block attacks. That processing is Cloudflare's, it is what makes a website work at all, and we do not build profiles from it or connect it to anything else.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to it being processed. Since we hold nothing of yours, the honest answer to most of those requests is that there is nothing to hand over. Ask anyway if you want it confirmed in writing.
You can also file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Audio and rights
All sound on this site is synthesised in your browser at the moment you press play. There are no samples taken from recordings, no streams and no transcriptions of protected work. The style grooves in the Drumlab describe how a style is put together, not how any particular record sounds.
The treble clef comes from Bravura, a music font published under the SIL Open Font License.
